A LIFE TO CELEBRATE –Life history Princess Deaconess Mrs. Florence Adebanke Lawale Princess Adebanke Lawale was born into The Adesida Royal family on the 11th May, 1939. Her Father was The Late Oba Afunbiowo Adesida I, The Deji of Akureland and her Mother - The late Madam Mary Eipuru Adesida hailed from Chief Ojomu of Ijomu quarters in Akure. Princess Adebanke Lawale attended Oroki Girls School Oshogbo between 1946 and 1952. She then proceeded to St. Margaret Girls Secondary School Ilesha from 1953 to 1955. She relocated to Oduduwa College, Ile-Ife to continue her education at the request of the Ooni of Ife land, Oba Aderemi the First, who was an intimate friend of Oba Afunbiowo Adesida the First. She was quick to distinguish herself in academics and in sports in the midst of over bearing boys who were in the majority in her class. Little wonder, she passed her West African School certificate Examination with flying colours in 1959. She thereafter, proceeded to Federal Training Centre in Lagos from 1959 to 1960 where she qualified as a Stenographer. She was posted to Federal Public Service Commission, Marina Lagos and the Ministry of Statistics Lagos. She was engaged to Claudius Ayodele Latunji Lawale on 10th July, 1960, they both got married on 22nd September 1962 after the completion of her Advanced Training at the Federal Training Centre Lagos; the marriage is blessed with Godly children and grand - children. She joined her husband in England in 1964 while in England; Princess Banke Lawale was admitted to read Business Administration in the Plymouth University. After her graduation at Plymouth University, she got a very good job with the Southampton City Council. She transferred to Surrey County Council in Kingston upon Thames where she worked till May1971 when she returned to Nigeria. In Nigeria, Princess Banke Lawale was employed by the University of Ibadan after going through a rigorous selection process and stiff competition against many other applicants. She rapidly progressed through the ranks and was promoted to the Post of Chief Executive Officer at the Department of Veterinary Medicine. She subsequently worked in various Faculties as Acting Faculty Officer until May 2002 when she retired from service at the University of Ibadan. Religious Activities Princess Banke Lawale loves the LORD and she was determined to spend the rest of her life serving Him. She was became a ‘BORN AGAIN’ Christian in 1983 and was baptised with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues in February 1985. She and her family worshipped at All Souls Church Bodija in Ibadan at the time. While in church, she participated in many ministerial activities. Florence Adebanke became the President of Women Christian League (a big society in the church) for many years. She was the Co-ordinator of village Evangelism and Church Intercessors. She graduated as a Deliverance Minister at “God will do it Ministries”. After that she attended a Pentecostal Church at the Livingspring Chapel International. She was ordained a Deaconess in November 2005. She later attended the Church Bible College – Christ International College of Ministries (CICON) of the Livingspring Chapel International in 2004 – 2005 and completed the course with distinction. Princess Banke worked in many Departments at the Livingspring Chapel, Sango Ibadan. She was a Counsellor and taught ‘The Beginners Classes’ at both Anglican Church of ‘The Transfiguration’ and at The Livingspring Chapel International. She remained a member of Parochial Church Council for many years. She served in various Committees at The Church of Transfiguration and Livingspring Chapel, Sango Ibadan. She will be best remembered for a lot of noble things not least her fervent attitude towards prayers and commitment to reaching out and blessing others.
